Internship report Jakob Niederhofer Part 3
Freizeit und was hat das Praktikum für Auswirkungen
How do you spend your free time in Roanoke?
As I mentioned before, I love nature and have already been able to go on some beautiful hikes in the neighboring Appalachian Mountains. I generally try to do as much as possible at the weekend, so my American colleagues have invited me to college football games several times. You meet up in large groups, everyone brings something to eat and enjoys American culture. I played American football in Germany for a few years myself and really enjoy it.
During the week, I go straight to the gym after my internship. I have found an American training partner there.
I live in a very nice apartment in Roanoke Downtown and have the opportunity to experience the maximum of American authenticity.
Can you already say what you are taking with you after your internship in the USA?
The most important experience I have gained here is definitely the application of university theory to practical project management. I am grateful for the trust that GEORG has placed in me. The chance to experience the whole thing in an intercultural setting helps me immensely for my personal development. I will finish my Bachelor's degree in February 2025 and plan to continue with a Master's degree. I can very well imagine working in a job with project management and international components later on. To be honest, I'm already looking forward to it!
