Final Acceptance Achieved
We are proud to announce the successful final acceptance of our latest GEORG ultragrind SG 2 roll grinding machine at Volkswagen's Gigafactory in Salzgitter — a landmark facility at the heart of VW's battery cell production strategy. The machine comes equipped with a comprehensive suite of advanced digital capabilities for testing, measurement, and inspection — including the newly developed GEORG smartmicron measuring caliper.
Our vision: a fully integrated, closed-loop quality control system embedded directly within the machine — seamlessly connected to the GEORG smartcontrol CNC platform and the grinding process itself. The result is continuous in-process monitoring, precise real-time measurement, and immediate process correction — delivering the highest standards of accuracy, efficiency, and part quality.
GEORG is honored to support Volkswagen's bold ambitions in the global EV market through state-of-the-art manufacturing technology. This project marks a significant milestone in the advancement of digitalized grinding technology and smart production.

GEORG High Performance Leveler

Another GEORG leveler is leaving our factory. It will be installed at one of our long-standing customers’ sites, positioned directly next to its “twin” GEORG leveler. Together, both machines will significantly increase production capacity while ensuring consistently high product quality. This project reflects what we stand for at GEORG: performance, reliability, and sustainable value for our customers’ operations.

IGUS trade press day at GEORG
To ensure the high quality of our machines, we manufacture in our in-house mechanical production facilities in Kreuztal, Germany, and Roanoke, USA.
We apply the same high-quality standards to our suppliers — for example, to the energy chains from igus GmbH. Last week, igus visited our headquarters in Kreuztal as part of a trade press workshop attended by many journalists. The industry experts had the opportunity to gain an in-depth impression of our coil processing lines, roll grinding machines, and lean production.
