During a ceremony the center lathe delivered by Heinrich Georg GmbH for machining rotors for generators at Siemens AG – Energy Sector was inaugurated in their Erfurt plant on 8.12.2009.
Siemens Erfurt plans to machine rotors of up to 2.000 mm in diameter, 16.000 mm in length and a workpiece weight of up to 100 tons on this lathe. The latest drive and control technology reduces the machining time by up to 30%.
By investing in GEORG know-how the generator plant in Erfurt in the future wants to keep its role as a major player on the international generator market. |
